There’s a great divide in public opinion in Alabama about the role government should play in gun ownership. That’s according to a report in the weekly newspaper Weld following the death of a bill in the 2017 legislative session that would’ve done away with mandatory concealed carry permits. Cody Owens is a staff reporter for Weld and he joins us to talk about his latest article, which looks at firearm culture in Alabama and how views on gun ownership still divide this deep, red state.
